Our Violin and Cello String Duo is a favourite among clients who are having a smaller event or who wish to hear a similar classical sound to our String Quartet but at lower price tag.
The Violin and Cello Duo plays many classical and romantic pieces including music from a mix of eras including classical, jazz and pop.

You can also have Blue Topaz String Duo to play at your drinks reception, wedding breakfast or even for your first dance! We recommend the lighter classics for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast, and a romantic slow song for your first dance.
Including pre ceremony music creates a lovely calm and welcoming atmosphere for your guests, whilst they wait for the ceremony to begin.

Sound Enhancement Service: Amplification with professional sound engineer, recommended if you are expecting more than 50 guests for the duo.
Hand Held Microphones: If you have booked the Sound Enhancement Service, you can also book the hand held microphones to make any speeches required, during our booking times. Extra time on request.
Lighting: Book our up lighters, to add extra visual atmosphere to your event. Power supply required.

Our String Duo is one violinist and one cellist. We find this combination is perfect for clients who are having more intimate events or if a lower budget option is required.
A string quartet has two violins, viola and cello. This increased combination of 4 instruments gives a rich, balanced sound which gives an optimum musical experience and is especially suited to playing classical repertoire such as Handel, Bach, Mozart and Schubert.
Absolutely not! Our String Duo appeals to all age ranges. We have played for Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs, at hundreds of weddings & anniversary parties for couples of all ages, for corporate events spanning young professionals to CEOs, plus many a big birthday to the age of ninety!
We arrange many of our String Duo songs ourselves. We choose music that we love and that we know will work well for just one violin and cello. We work hard to create the best versions we can with just two instruments so you can hear the best music at your event. We also arrange and take music commissions on request, and no song is too big, too small, too outlandish or unusual!
Due to the bespoke nature of the service we provide, our fees are dependent on factors such as the length of time required, travel time, the time of year and additional services. We therefore prefer to quote for each individual booking, however as a guide our String Duo prices start from £450.
If your event is large we would normally recommend one of our bigger ensembles such as our String Quintet, however if the Duo is your group of choice and you are expecting larger numbers we would highly recommend hire of our Sound Enhancement Service for more than 50 guests, in order to boost the sound so that your guests could hear us in the background whilst they enjoy a drink and a chat.
This service includes all necessary safety checked equipment and our sound engineer to oversee the booking.
We can also bring along lighting to highlight the performance area and can include a vocal microphone for any speeches you may be having. All our equipment is PAT tested and fully insured.
