Our string trio is a unique group of 2 violins and double bass that forms our London String Trio Wedding lineup.
As far as we have found, it isn’t possible to buy music for our London String Trio Wedding lineup. So, we arrange every piece that you hear played by our London String Trio ourselves by ear.
What does ‘by ear’ mean?
It means that we sit down, listen very carefully to all the musical sounds in the original track and through the process of rewinding the track and reworking the notes, we rewrite the song so that we are able to perform it in our London String Trio Wedding lineup.
The process can take several hours, just to reproduce one song, but it is worth it as it means we can create string versions that rock(!) and perform any song that you’d like to hear!!

Why did we decide to have a double bass in our London String Trio Wedding lineup?

Because adding the double bass brings wonderful versatility. Our bass players can use their bow for smooth rich sounds and they can also pluck and slap the strings to add a fantastic energy. This energy is perfect for playing many of the pop and modern songs that many of our customers are keen to hear! It injects a fizz and brings the upbeat numbers to life whilst giving a lovely depth and sonority for the love songs.
We love the double bass because the special bass techniques that we teach our players together with the careful ‘attention to detail’ rewriting of the original songs means that our London String Trio Wedding lineup can play ALL THE SONGS and IN THE BEST WAY! – regardless of whether they are classical or pop (or any other genres to be honest)!!
