Well talk about sublime to the ridiculous.! Our feet have not touched the ground in recent weeks as weddings are BACK ON with a PASSION! We have been over the moon to be able to perform regularly again and provide our London Wedding String Music for our clients. From enquiries for just next week (yes really!) to those in 2023, our diary has been filling up, but what exactly are we doing when engaged to play and how does booking us improve your event?
Here are 7 ways that we can make your wedding day sparkle with strings:
Start your day as you mean to go on with some beautiful guest arrival London Wedding String Music. We can keep it classical here, go with a light jazz vibe or ,maybe some easy going love songs. Whatever music style you choose having live string music before your ceremony begins is a key way to add atmosphere, remove any awkwardness and sooth the nerves! We like playing calming classical such as the second movement of Bach’s Double Violin Concerto or Sam Smith’s version of How Will I Know by Whitney Houston.
2. Walk down the aisle to a romantic string version of your favourite song! The aisle song is a magical moment as is the timing of it. With a live group like ours you can have your London Wedding String Music perfectly timed and executed to coincide with your arrival at the front with no awkward or sudden finishes. With over 15 years experience we pride ourselves in getting this perfect! Canon by Pachelbel wins every time here, followed by At Last made famous by Etta James. Have a listen to our version here.
3. If you are having a civil or church ceremony you will need to spend 5-10 minutes signing the register so it is a really nice touch to ask your London Wedding String Music group to perform here whilst your guests are waiting for you to finish. It also entertains any little ones whose attention may wane! For Humanist ceremonies you may like to include a little musical interlude either as a stand alone performance or during other activities such as a Sand Ceremony. Choices here could include Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis, All Of Me by John Legend or Your Song by Elton John.
4. At the end of the ceremony the registrar, religious leader or celebrant will draw the proceedings to a close and ask your guests, where able, to stand as you leave the ceremony together as a married couple. This moment is a wonderful opportunity for your London Wedding String Music group to play some jubilant and joyful music to accompany your exit. Here at Blue Topaz Music we love La Rejouissance by Handel, All You Need is Love by The Beatles or God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.
5. After your ceremony you will probably be excited to catch up with friends and family over a drink and canapés. What better than having some up beat and fun strings versions of various well known pop and jazz songs help get the party started and create the vibe?! With the inclusion of a double bass in our Trio and Quintet we are able to add a fantastic energy to these upbeat songs, plucking the strings in a special way using the slap bass technique. We position ourselves in the best spot for you and your guests or if you would like the option to spread our sound around a larger space or inside and outside you can hire our sound enhancement service to facilitate this. So many good song options here. I will name Highway to the Danger Zone, Let’s Dance, We Are Family, Celebration, Summer of 69, Rather Be, Happy and Get Lucky!
6. It can be lovely to continue the music during your wedding breakfast. We can change up your London Wedding String Music here so that we take it back a pace whilst you eat – maybe some lovely dinner jazz or pop ballads. We enjoy playing The Girl from Ipanema, You Make Me Feel, I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing and Time After Time.
7. After dinner and if you’re not looking to go big with a live band or DJ we can provide a lovely set or two of post dinner entertainment whilst you enjoy the rest of your day and maybe a last couple of drinks. This idea can also work really well for smaller weddings to keep the vibe and ensure you don’t lose your guests too quickly once the meal has finished!
So there you have it. 7 ways we can transform your event and make your wedding day sparkle with our London Wedding String Music!
